On November 1 and 2, the 3v3 Street Football World Cup will take place in Riga, where 32 national teams will compete for the historic first title.
For the first time, Latvian residents will have the opportunity to see teams from several exotic countries, such as Brazil, Colombia, China, and even Australia. At the tournament, it will be possible to see and meet such street football stars as Jack Downer from the United Kingdom (3.4 million followers), Gabriel Elias (1.1M), Gui Marcondes (470K), G. Coutinho (800K) from Brazil, and others of the most relevant street football stars of the moment.
"It is a great honor to be the initiators and the first to organize such a grand event to find out the world's strongest 3 vs 3 football team. Football is one of the world's languages, and over the past ten years, Ghetto Football, with its leader Antons Semeņaks, has done everything possible for so many countries to meet on the football field in Riga this year. It worked, so I am genuinely happy about the persistence and work invested, and an example that Latvia can do it! I hope that the World Cup will only be the beginning for this!" Ghetto Games leader Raimonds Elbakjans shares his thoughts about the tournament.
The idea for the first Street Football World Cup came about in 2023 when the Ghetto Football organizers, together with partners from other European and World countries, founded the International Street Football Federation (ISFA), and in 2024 the idea became a reality. This year, qualifying tournaments were held in each country, determining the strongest teams, which got the opportunity to represent their country. On Friday, November 1, throughout the day, the teams will play group matches, while the fight for the title will take place on Saturday, November 2. The competition can be watched both in person at the “Dzintars” (H.A.Brieger) factory territory on Mālu iela 30, and live on YouTube and Twitch platforms.
Considering that this will be the first time so many national teams compete for the street football king's title, there is no clear favourite, but “on paper,” Brazil, France, Latvia, Serbia, Colombia, Austria, Netherlands and Denmark could provide the greatest competition. However, this does not rule out unexpected surprises.
You can follow information about the tournament on ISFA and Ghetto Football social networks.
