Esplanade – Skate Plaza

The Skate Plaza is open from 8.30am to 9.30pm daily, including public holidays, and is free for casual use.

The Skate Plaza is one of the Cairns Regional Council's finest recreational facilities. Providing exciting recreational opportunities, the facility has been called 'one of the seven wonders of the skate park world' due to its innovative design and contextual aesthetics.

As part of the Northern Esplanade Activity Precinct the inverted cradle is a dominant feature of the Skate Plaza. The plaza has appeared in numerous skateboarding and BMX magazines and is seen as a benchmark project for active, non-structured recreational facilities
